DIY LED lamp

The use of LED lighting can significantly reduce energy costs. If compared with energy saving light bulbs, not to mention incandescent lamps, LED luminaires have a huge number of advantages. However, such devices are expensive. DIY lamp is a good way to save money.
to contents ↑Benefits
In addition to low energy intensity, lighting equipment equipped with LEDs is absolutely safe for health. In addition, such lighting has such advantages:
- Weak heat.
- Low power consumption.
- Long (up to 10 years) working resource.
- Light weight.
- Quick start (minimum warm-up time).
- Ecological cleanliness.
to contents ↑Important! There is only one drawback: a higher price compared to other types of lighting products.
DIY LED fixture
Enough basic knowledge of electrical engineering to independently design such a product, designed for a voltage of 220 V. To begin with, we decide: is the game worth the candle? Maybe it's better to invest money and use a reliable industrial device for a long time?
Why is a self-made lamp good?
- Cheapness. Of all the ways to get LED lighting, this is the cheapest.
- Simple assembly scheme. Even a not too experienced electrician will cope with this work.
- The efficiency of the glow of the device, made by yourself, is not inferior to the factory one.
- Availability. The lamp works from a voltage source of 220 V. So there will be no problems with the power source.
Product Advantage:
- Quality assurance. Of course, provided that the lamp is not a “no name” product.
- Long service life.
- Good lighting quality.
- The possibility of exchange under warranty in the event of a malfunction or a factory defect.
Important! A purchased product will cost a much larger amount than that done independently.
Which option to stop is for you to decide.
to contents ↑How to make a LED lamp with your own hands? Manufacturing procedure
If you prepare all the materials in advance, then the entire procedure for manufacturing the lighting device will take at least an hour. You will need such details to make your own LED lamp:
- Defective LED lamp.
- Fiberglass laminate - for fixing LED lamps.
- Radio parts for electrical circuit.
- Copper sulfate.
- Salt.
- Nail polish.
- Solvent.
How to make an LED lamp from an energy-saving lamp?
- Cut a fiberglass circle with a diameter of 3 cm.
- To put a track on a future electrical circuit, a regular nail polish is well suited. To etch the circuit board, place it in a hot solution of sodium chloride and copper sulfate. In 24 hours, all the copper on the board will be bleed. Only lacquered tracks will remain.
- Using a solvent, remove the remaining varnish.
- Make holes in the circuit board to place the radio elements.
- Pre-cover the tracks with a layer of tin (half-time).
- Preparatory work is completed. You can begin the final soldering. Disassemble the old lighting fixture, carefully remove the “stuffing” from it, leaving only 2 wires that are soldered to the bulb base.
- Solder the circuit to these two wires. Use hot-melt adhesive to fix the circuit board inside the lamp housing.
LED lamp of energy-saving do-it-yourself is ready!
Fluorescent light fixture
The manufacturing principle is largely similar to that described. Only here are used the old fluorescent lamp and pieces of LED strip. So you will need:
- LED strip - 4 pieces.
- Electrolytic capacitor.
- Capacitor.
- Diodes from the lamp.
Operating procedure:
- Remove all internal “stuffing” from the blown fluorescent lamp, leaving only the fuse.
- Cut the LED strip so that 3 bulbs remain on each segment.
- Connect the cut pieces in series.
- Fix the parts of the tape so that the elongation of the cap is obtained.
- Foam board is best suited. To it and stick the tape.

If everything is done correctly and accurately, the lamp will turn out to be solid and not inferior in efficiency to the factory one.
